In November 1992, we developed a small number of compositions around the works of the great American painter and sculptor, Cy Twombly. These preliminary pieces, which where first performed at the “Wien Modern” new music festival, led over the years to more and more excursions into Twombly´s world, eventually resulting in this compilation of music based on eleven of his paintings and two of his sculptures.
With the exception of the two solo tracks (6 and 11), all of the pieces on this CD are joint compositions of the type made possible by our ongoing fraternal collaboration since childhood.
